CyGen’s innovative, participatory approach is ethical and supports children and young people’s understanding of working ethically as part of their development of 21st century skills.
All CyGen procedures have been scrutinised and approved by the ethics committees in each of the CyGen partner universities. The project Lead, Professor Helen Lomax has overall responsibility for the ethical conduct of the Cygen project.
Adult participants have given informed written consent to participate in the CyGen project. Informed written consent was secured from primary carers prior to children’s and young people’s participation. Informed, ongoing assent was secured from children and young people for their participation in the CyGen project.
